With the introduction of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998
there are better safeguards and potential remedies for people
experiencing what the Act describes as: "behaviour likely
to cause alarm, harassment or distress".
Typical examples of anti-social behaviour can be: criminal
damage (vandalism), threatening behaviour and harassment;
abandoned vehicles, neighbour problems, noise, dog fouling
and fly tipping.
Locally, Dover District Council has introduced an Anti-social
Behaviour Unit to help and advise residents and work closely
with the police and other agencies to tackle anti-social behaviour.
To contact the Unit for advice or to report problems, you
can write, telephone, fax or e-mail them at the adddress below.
If you request, your approach can be treated in confidence
to protect your identity.
